According to Michigan.gov "Michigan wine production has more than doubled over the past ten years, with over 2.7 million gallons of wine bottled in 2016; and, the state's grape-growing industry dates back to the mid-19th century and has grown to include 3,375 acres of wine grapes and more than 150 wineries that welcome 1.7 million visitors throughout the year"
